In the aftermath of the recent hurricanes, affected communities are confronting extraordinary challenges. They need our help.
We are collaborating with two LCMS churches to provide essential resources for their recovery.
St. Peter's Lutheran Church in North Carolina is stepping up to assist those affected with hygiene kits. Their dedication to these families is unwavering, and they are working tirelessly to help them rebuild their lives. Meanwhile, Grace Lutheran School (K-8) in St. Petersburg, Florida, has also been severely impacted by the storm. The damage has disrupted their operations, and they urgently need supplies to help get students back in the classroom and restore a sense of normalcy. Join us in offering critical aid and restoring hope to those affected by this devastating storm. Every effort matters; together, we can help restore lives and revitalize our community. Join Zion, Lutheran High School and other area churches and schools as we help provide resources to those impacted by these storms.
Here is how you can help...
You can bring these items to church during regular business hours to the front office, during worship services in the gathering area, or to any event hosted by Zion. Student can bring these resources to school at anything.
Special Incentive for Students: Bring in items for a chance to vote for a staff member to get a pie in the face during a spirit rally!
Deadline for these items is: November 1
1. Monetary Gifts: A monetary of any size will help in a variety of ways. We will use this funding to support the shipment of these items to the affected areas. We will also utilize these funds to purchase items needed or combine funds to purchased larger items on the lists.
2. Donation of Items: You can purchase or provide the items listed below. Please note that some of these items are marked as can be used, meaning that you may have some of these items available to donate that are in useable condition. These items are marked with **
Here are the items that these churches are seeking for their communities:
+ Blankets, Towels, Pillows,
+ Backpacks
+ Lunch Boxes**
+ Kid shoes (Preschool- 8th grade)**
+ Non Perishable foods that can be heated up/served using only a microwave
+ Microwavable foods (soup, macaroni and cheese cups, etc.)
+ Snack foods for kids (think Sam’s club- chips, crackers, breakfast bars, cereal, etc)
+ Canned foods with pop tab
+ Fruit & Snack Pouches that do not need to be refrigerated
+ Playground equipment: hula hoops, basketballs, soccer balls, playground bouncy balls, chalk, jump rope, & footballs**
+ Puzzles, cars, trucks, blocks, legos, duple blocks, play centers for Preschool**
+ Art and Office Supplies
+ Toothpaste
+ Small Shampoo Bottles
+ Hand Sanitizer
+ Resealable Gallon Sized Bags
+ Nail Clippers
